The John Flowers Project

Hello & Welcome to the John Flowers page. Here you will find information about what John is up to, upcoming events and even a little information about John the man.

So how did John get started?

The idea came to him after visiting his sister in Boston, Mass on Christmas. John, his mother, his children, and a niece & nephew, 15 people to be exact, were all opening presents and singing Christmas carols. John's son Frank, came into the room and said "Dad, there's a lady in the room next door all by herself." So he decided to go next door to see what Frank was talking about. There was a lady sitting in bed with all her hair has gone shaved off. John asked her why she was so sad. Her reply "I know this is my last Christmas and my family has given me up on me. I'm here alone on Christmas, by myself."   He replied, No, you're not. You've got us."  John returned to his sister's room and explained about the lady next door. His sister had so many presents we decided to grab one big present to take to the lady. As he leaned over to give her the present he could see tears of happiness in her eyes. What is inside the wrapping paper......a very large beautiful teddy bear. The woman grabbed it, hugged it and couldn't stop saying Thank you.  And from this one moment, a tradition was born.

Many of us run from place to place and sometimes we get distracted and forget to stop and see what is the most precious our Family & Friends. Each year John delivers Stuffed animals to the Childrens Home, the hospitals & local nursing homes.  Why?  Because noone should be forgotten & through his deliveries he brings back the Spirit of Christmas, and what it really means. 

In the short time I have known John; I have seen that spirit come to life through him.   I am proud to call him my friend & I owe many thanks for bringing back the true meaning of Christmas to me.
